Beliefs

Denver Presbyterian Church is committed to the historic Christian faith, summarized in the great creeds that have been affirmed by all authentic Christian bodies, at all times, and in all places. These include the Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed.

Being part of the Presbyterian tradition, our more comprehensive statement of faith is found in the Westminster Confession of Faith. While the teachings of the Westminster Confession are affirmed by our pastors, there are many people at Denver Presbyterian whose own beliefs differ on secondary matters. Affirming the Westminster Standards is not a requirement for membership, nor is it a requirement for most areas of service or leadership (apart from holding church office).

While most of the people at Denver Pres affirm the historic creeds, we are committed to being a church that also serves those who are either curious or skeptical about Christianity. This means that there are many people who consider Denver Presbyterian their church home who are in the process of figuring out who Jesus is, and what it means to follow him.

Denver Presbyterian Church is a new community of faith not only for current followers Jesus, but also for those who are curious to explore historic Christianity. We meet in East Denver, and primarily serve the neighborhoods of Park Hill, Stapleton, Lowry, Montclair, City Park, Congress Park, Hale, Hilltop, East Colfax and Cherry Creek. Denver Pres is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
