David grew up outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana—he was either outside playing in the dirt or practicing the piano! His parents always encouraged him and his brothers to always seek a relationship with Jesus and modeled faithful service in the church, serving in setup teams, bible studies, and community groups.

David and Emily met each other the first week that his family started attending a new church; they were both 10 years old. They became good friends early on and always remained so, attending TWO proms together in high school and keeping in touch during their college years. They dated long-distance while David lived in Indiana and married one month after Emily graduated from college in 2019. They moved to Colorado in July of 2020 so that David could pursue his doctorate in piano at CU Boulder. David graduated from CU in May of 2025, just in time for them to welcome their son Isaac twelve days later!

David also works as a staff pianist with the Colorado Children’s Chorale, with the choir programs in several schools in the Denver Metro, and as a studio piano teacher.

He and Emily began attending Denver Pres in May of 2021 and have blessed by the love, joy, and belonging in this body of believers. David is passionate about fostering a culture of congregational worship and proclaiming together the great love of God each week.

Aside from his family and friends, there is little David loves more than the first steaming mug of coffee each morning, good food, growing plants—flowers, herbs, weird houseplants—and hiking/being outside in this beautiful state.
