On Easter Sunday we rejoice in the Resurrection – Jesus Christ’s cosmic victory over sin and death! Our debt’s been paid, we’re rescued out of bondage into God’s family to experience new life for us and the whole of creation. This is the high point of the church year so it makes sense that it kicks off a 50-day feast. After the resurrection, Jesus spent 40 days on earth before he ascended, and then there were 10 more days after that before the Day of Pentecost.
