Nancy Nelson

Director of Community Connection

Nancy grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where she formed a love of Lake Superior.  After living several different places in Michigan, she made the move to Denver to study youth ministry at Colorado Christian University.  It was at CCU that she met her husband, Philip.  After college it became obvious that Denver was where they wanted to put down roots.

After many years of working in retail and management, Nancy joined the staff of Greenwood Community Church as their High School Pastoral Resident in 2014.  It was here that she grew the most in her love and care for people.  This was also the time that she began pursuing an M.A. in Old Testament at Denver Seminary.  She loves the stories of the people in the Old Testament, just like she loves the stories of God’s people in the present.  This has fostered a joy of walking with others in their relationship with God, particularly during difficult times.

Nancy loves that her position with Denver Pres allows her to use her energy and her love for people in a unique way by getting them connected to others.  She is excited about getting people the right fit so that they can experience the transforming love of God through community.

Outside of her exciting life at Denver Pres, Nancy enjoys spending time with Philip and good friends. She also likes walks, reading, thinking, and writing.  And she always looks forward to Fall.
